We're happy to announce a new session of ZOOM classes beginning in January 2022! To register, please see class descriptions, times and registration links below.

John and Mary are also available for private sessions in Yoga Therapy, Yoga Nidra, QiGong and Energy healing via Zoom. Please call or email for more information, fees or to make an appointment.

MONDAY

Tai Chi Solo Forms, ZOOM

Historians tell us that Tai Chi was developed about 1000 years ago during the Song Dynasty, centuries after Qigong exercises were in existence. According to the Tai Chi Classics, there were 13 original moves that were taught one by one, much like yoga asanas. They were eventually linked together into the long forms that are taught today. Learning Tai Chi in single movements allows us to focus more intently on the very foundation of Tai Chi – the Chi or energy itself - without which tai chi simply becomes nothing more than soft calisthenics. Learning the solo forms also becomes excellent preparation for learning the longer, dance-like forms, if the practitioner chooses. Suitable for all  levels.

YOGA - Gentle Yoga (ZOOM) (Mary)

This class combines somatics (slow, conscious isolated movements of major muscles and joints which reprogram the body to move fluidly), and stretch postures, along with breath, mudras, and internal focus. We will also practice classical gentle Yoga poses, mudras to specifically direct & open energy in the body, as well as flowing poses and stretches from Tao Yoga that allow energy to flow through the meridians. This gentle to moderate class promotes flexibility, lightness, and graceful movement. Appropriate for all levels.

QiGong for Health and Vitality- ZOOM

Learn to activate, cultivate and store your life force energy through single QiGong movements, flowing dances and QiGong sequences, with an emphasis on balancing energy for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Learn pressure points and other energetic self-healing techniques. Suitable for all levels.

Chair Yoga is an adapted form of yoga that makes yoga accessible to everyone! In this class, our practice will include seated poses and soft flowing movements on the chair and standing postures using the chair for balance and support. We'll also do gentle breath work which, when combined with our attention, not only brings more oxygen into the body but also quiets the mind, easing stress and tension. Benefits of this gentle, joyful practice include increased strength and flexibility, stronger bones, greater fluidity in the joints, more vitality, and happier heart. All levels welcome!
